Try repairing the installation. Launch Acrobat and go to Help > Repair Installation.
Please let us know the steps you do that result in the error message.
Did you check if it happens with every file you use?
Share the Acrobat version number..
Just to test, try the workaround: Go to Edit menu > Preferences > Security (Enhanced) > uncheck "Enable Protected Mode at Startup" and "Run in AppContainer".
Let us know if that resolves the issue.
