Acrobat 2020 Standard align comment text boxes?

New Here ,
May 10, 2024 May 10, 2024

Previously, in Acrobat XI Standard, I was able to use the select object tool to select text boxes created in the comment tool and align them, vertically or horizontally.  You would select them, right click and select align.  In the 2020 version (or the current DC version), it doesn't appear as though these comment text boxes are considered objects so no object tools appear available?  Aside from tediously manually aligning the text boxes, is there a solution that is more in line with the prior functionality?

Hi @Susan37321034wq7b

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat 2020 you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 20.05.30574 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once and see if that works.

Let us know how it goes.

This is not an issue with just one pdf file.  It is an issue with all of them that have the comment text boxes.

Old version of Acrobat on Windows server 2008 R2.  Newer version of Acrobat (the version you cite) on Windows 2019 Datacenter.  The text boxes are the same as those that can be found by importing an fdf file, so the version of the Acrobat shouldn't matter.   I have saved the pdf using the newer version.  I have created new comment text boxes in that newly saved file.  This newer version doesn't recognize the text boxes as objects whereas the old version did.
