Acrobat 8 pro not responding [Acrobat 8 is dead]

New Here ,
Nov 20, 2017 Nov 20, 2017

I followed the instructions to get a new serial number for Acrobat Pro 8, and installed it.  Upon launch, hitting any menu item results in "Not responding".  My operating system is Windows 10, 64 bit.

Hi Roberth,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As you are experiencing an issue with activation of Adobe Acrobat 8, it may be because the activation server for this version had to be retired.

Please refer the steps mentioned in this help link Activation or connection error when starting CS3 or Acrobat 8 to reactivate your Adobe Acrobat 8 application.

Hope the information helps.

Let us know if you experience any issue.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Hi Amyr,

As you have metioned above, you are using Adobe Acrobat 8 on Windows 10.

Would like to inform you that Acrobat 8 is not compatible with Windows 10.

Also, Acrobat 8 is an old and unsupported version.

You may or may not experience issues while using Acrobat on this OS version.

However, you can try once the troubleshooting steps provided here: Troubleshoot Windows system errors, freezes | Adobe software

Check if that helps.

Regards,

Meenakshi

My Acrobat 8 Pro worked on window 10 '"64 Bit" just fine, but when I upgraded to windows 10 Pro, can not activate now.  Going to have to go to another PDF software like Soda

There is a patch that fixes the Flex licensing.  I do not remember where on Adobe's site I got, probably the same place I got all the Acrobat 8 incremental updates, but it is called licensing_service_patch.  As soon as that is installed Flex stops killing Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro
