Acrobat Date conversion

I created a form in Acrobat that includes Date fields and the formatting is set to MM/DD/YYY.

If I type "jul 18" it auto-converts to 07/18/2022. Yay! But then I sent the form out into the world and people who used it filled out the rest and somehow the date appeared to them as "jul 18". It never auto-corrected for them when they opened it.

I have no idea what program they used to open and finish filling out the form, but I need to set the date to maintain the formatting regardless of what program opens it. Is that possible?

No, because many PDF programs have very poor (if any) support for JavaScript, and this formatting depends on certain scripts to work. Instruct the users to open the file using Adobe Reader for it to work correctly.
