Acrobat DC Pro missing visual cues in Accessibility when selecting objects or reordering items

Hi all,

I'm running Acrobat Pro DC (2021.007.20091) on Mac OS Mojave. I just noticed that my Acrobat is missing some visual indicators in the Accessibility section, specifically...

  • When clicking Accessibility > Reading Order and then click-dragging in the document window to select objects in order to tag them, the usual outline/box that should be visible, isn't visible.
  • Opening the Accessibility > Order or Accessibility > Content side-panels (on the left-hand side of Acrobat) and click-dragging items to move them up or down the list no longer shows the usual indicator line to show where they'd "land".

In both instances the functionality still technically works--click-dragging to select objects in Reading Order still works, you just can't see the selector; moving items in the Order and Content panels still works, you just can't see where they're moving to until releasing the mouse button--but not having those indicators is making it extremely difficult to accomplish those tasks. It feels like a bug but I can't figure out how to remedy it.

Does anyone know why the selector-boxes and column lines might've disappeared? I've already restarted Acrobat and my computer multiple times and the issues remain. Thanks ahead of time.

Hi Morgan

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

The issue is already reported to our engineering team and they are working on it to find the fix. We will share the update as soon as we will hear anything from them.

Thanks for your time and patience

Regards

Amal

Thanks, glad it's being looked into. Is there an ETA on when a fix will be coming? These issues are making accessibility-remediation near impossible to do correctly...

I'm also noticing a lot of other visual errors: sidebars disappearing or not refreshing, UI elements (like columns or expandable elements) failing to display properly, etc. Is this the same issue? They both started happening around the same time.

I'm having the same issue. I use this feature almost on a daily basis and it is very recent for me; just started happening today when I used it correctly on Monday. It also seems to just be a Mac issue? I opened it on a different PC and it's working correctly. As Morgan said, is there an ETA on when this will be fixed?

Is there any more information or updates about a resolution to these bugs?
