Acrobat DC stop working with BPDX Files (again / again / again)

Community Beginner ,
Mar 22, 2024 Mar 22, 2024

I was using the BPDX files to update several PDX indices and it always worked very well, Acrobat's primary tool. But after the February 2024 update 23.008.20533, the BPDX file when opened, opens Acrobat DC, but nothing happens. The manual update of the PDX files cannot write the Logs, but updates the indices (IDX) and ps PDX. I speak with support here in Brazil, no solution, support in English, no solution. I remember that everything has always worked very well...

Does anyone else have the same problem?

The problem has already been reported some time ago in:

Thank you

Jesse James

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

What happens when you try to open the BPDX file, do you get any error message? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for more clarity.

Also, update the application to the recent version 24.01.206XX from the help menu > check for updates and reboot the computer once and see if that works.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal

Hello! Greetings!

We have already updated to the latest version and installed the latest patch right after (24.001.20631).
With the PDX, everything is fine, the problem is the BPDX... When we try to open it, Acrobat opens and nothing else happens, no error is shown. Exactly like the problem in the link mentioned in the post. We are in contact with Adobe support to try to resolve it, but any help is welcome.

Hi there

Please try to turn off the protected mode for testing and see if that works. Go to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd+K) > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable Protected mode at start up' and turn off the Protected Mode > Click Ok and reboot the application.

Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid any security risk.

Let us know how it goes.
