Acrobat Distiller not working, Apple M1 Pro, OS Monterey

Community Beginner ,
Jan 12, 2022 Jan 12, 2022

I have a new MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip and I can't open the Acrobat Distiller. Other Adobe products work without problems, even Adobe Acrobat DC. First time I tried to open Acrobat Distiller I got the message "Sorry, something went wrong". When I try to open it now nothing happens. Software is Up to date. Thank you!

Hi, just let you know I finally solved the problem. It was caused by a corrupted font activated by FontExplorer X Pro. I deactivated a bunch of fonts and Distiller works like a charm. I found this thread https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-dc-distiller-crashing/td-p/10137786 which helped me. Now I have to find out which font it was.

Did you switch Acrobat to native M1 support? See here for more information: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/apple-silicon-m1-processor-support.html

Based on Adobe's statements, Acrobat (and that would include Distiller) is supported on M1 hardware. I would uninstall Acrobat, then run the Adobe Cleaner (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html) and then re-install Acrobat again to see if that fixes the problem.

Hi, thank you very much for your reply! I did what you have suggested and I have tried several ways of uninstlalling Acrobat DC, even manually deleting associated files from Application support and other folders in the Library directory. Unfortunately it did not help. In crash log it says this:

Unfortunately, a crashlog is only useful to somebody who has access to the source code of the application. This means that only Adobe can help you with that information. Without knowing what the reason for the crash is, it's impossible to propose any workarounds. I would recommend that you get in touch with Adobe's customer support and see if they can help you.

I need help too. Distiller is not opening for some reason. I've never opened and I'm not sure what it does, but its grayed out.

Is it supposed to be like that?
