acrobat does not save actions

Community Beginner ,
Jan 05, 2023 Jan 05, 2023

I have a set of .sequ actions from a previous adobe license

Working with the new license I imported them to action wizard and the import was correctly made.

But every time I close acrobat the actions disappear for the next time. The system doesn't save them although they've been correctly imported.

I have also tried to create a new action from scracth with the same result.

Can anybody help?

Hi @Irene Blázquez

Thanks for reporting this.

Would you mind confirming the version of your previous Acrobat and the current one? Is it a license/perpetual version or an individual subscription?

There's likely a chance that it didn't sync correctly during the import of the Actions. Please look into this help article for the exact steps to perform for importing Actions:

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi,AkanchhaS

It's Adobe Acrobat Pro 2022.003.20282 64 bits with both licenses (we didn't reinstall)

Our new license is 'Plan Adobe Enterprise'. We think that the previous one was the same, but we're not sure.

I think the sync problem can be discarded since the same issue happens when creating a new action.

Thanks a lot

This is just a guess, but try exporting the new action to your desktop, then import it back into Acrobat.

Thanks Luke Jennings3, that doesn't work for me.

I just found this issue precisely when trying to import actions. Trying to solve it is when I found out that it also didn't save a new actions.

I guess there's a problem with the folder where actions are saved but I don't know how to change this default folder  (explained in this thread )

I have the same problem. Imported Actions aren't saved by Acrobat Pro. Eacht time I want to use I have to import it again. How to resolve this?

I had the same problem. I tried putting the .sequ actions to be imported on my harddrive (not on a cloud drive), and then tried again - it worked 🙂

Sorry, but there must be some other reason for the success of @Susan27231955eooe... I am on 2023.001.20063 Mac. I was on 2022.003.20314 Mac. It does NOT matter whether you save a new one made from scratch or import Acrobat XI actions (or whether you import the XI actions from a local drive not synched to cloud (in my case DropBox - I don't use Adobe Cloud and will not - one cloud file provider is enough) or one not synched to cloud (e.g., /usr/documents). I'm using Mac paths here, but sounds like Windows is doing the same thing. When you build or import the action it appears as a file using the name with which it was saved in a folder the path of which is /Users/<Usrname>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/DC/Sequences. Then shortly after quitting Acrobat the saved files magically disappear (i.e., are deleted - and they are not even in trash, and I've got  invisible / hidden files showing - they are just going completely away). And YES I'm administrator on this Mac and NO I'm not using any networked drives (just Dropbox). This is a MAJOR pain. Please FIX IT
