Hi @suzanne_4044,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience!

Since Windows 7 has been made End-Of-Life by Microsoft, there are very limited troubleshooting steps that we can do in such scenarios.

What I would try here is to re-register the DLL file in your system.

If it is available, you can try clicking on Start Menu-> search for Command Prompt-> right-click to launch it as Administrator-> type the following commands one by one

regsvr32 /u advapi32.dll -> press Enter
regsvr32 advapi32.dll -> press Enter

Please make sure that no apps are running in the background while you are doing so.  This unregisters and re-registers the DLL, which might resolve the issue if the DLL is corrupt or not correctly registered.

Next would be to run System File checker: run System File Checker scan to check for and repair corrupted system files:

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
  2. Type: sfc /scannow

Allow the scan to complete. This command will scan your system for corrupted or missing files and attempt to fix them.

Once done, restart your system and then check again.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi @suzanne_4044,

Thanks for posting your issue to Adobe. We acknowledge the issue and are working on the fix on priority.

We will update once the fix is rolled out. Meanwhile as a workaround you can try updating your Win 7 OS to latest update of Win 7

Regards

Ravi
