In trying to recognize text in a pdf file, Acrobat (current version for Mac as of 6/2024), I geet an error message about 'wrong parameter supplied to a PDS procedure). I check the box to "Ignore future errors in this document" but Acrobat repeats the same message on the next page. Why doesn't Acrobat "obey" it's own instruction to "ignore." Most annoying. Any ideas?

Hi there
Hope you are doing well.
Is this an issue with a partiular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.
Have you created this PDF file or have you got it from a different user?
Please go through a correct answer marked in the similar discussion (https://adobe.ly/3RT14Gz) and see if that works.

The issue occurs with multiple but not all pdf files.

Hi there
We are sorry to hear that.
Would you mind sharing the PDF file in question so we can check it at our end, for further investigation.

The only files for which I've encountered this issue have digitized copies of books downloaded from sites like Google Books or Internet Archive. As you can see from the Document Properties screenshot above, the file(s) would be quite large. I'll try to identify the smallest one for which I've had this problem. I see a "Maximum size: 47 MB". Would a file as large as that be ok?
Thanks.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing the information. As the issue is with the large PDF files, this error could be due to low memory situation or low disk space, please try to clear some memory and try to clear some disk space and see if that works.

I do not think either low disk space or low memory is the issue. I have used Activity Monitor to observe usage during the Acrobat failure, and there is barely a twitch of change in either memory usage or available disk space. I have 1.31 TB or unused disk space out of 2 TB, and I have 96 GB of Physical Memory of which 54 GB is used. There are virtually no changes in these parameters when Acrobat attempts the OCR.
The problem file is indeed a large file, but Acrobat has had no OCR issues when processing even larger files.
So, the issue appears to be something specific to the uploaded pdf file (and ones similar to it) ... and not anything to do with memory or disk space.
Thanks.

Hi there
Thanks for the update.
Have you started experiencing this issue recently after the June'24 update or was this issue present earlier as well?
What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.2089x installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
Please share a small video recording of the issue while running the process for more clarity? Also, collect the Acromon logs as described here (https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-diagnostics.html) and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Amal - Are you still following this? In an email of 15 July you requested information and files related to this problem. My attempt to email a response bounced. How should I get this info to you? Thanks.
