I am a retired, senior and have just purchased a new laptop for home use only and would like to install Adobe Acrobat, just a simple version that would let me save and manage PDF files. Can I buy a version outright or do I have to subscribe? A subscription seems to be an expensive option for me. In the past, in a work environment, I have used 9 Pro and would be happy to have it again if it was available. Any suggestions please and thanks in advance.

Hi Ozinomads,
Really sorry to tell you this but at this point the only option is Subscription, assuming that you want to be able to do more than just read them. If seeing and Reading is sufficient, than Reader is available. But beyond that, it's a subscription.
You may wish to see if there is an alternative out there in the market place that might satisfy your needs. I can't recommend one because I've never looked for one. Sorry I cannot hep more.

Do you need more than Reader? What do you need to do precisely?
Also, you could fine other software similar to Acrobat if necessary.

Sure you can, to download non-subscription (Perpetual/Serial number-based) Adobe Acrobat software (Acrobat 2020), go to:

I think you missed this: "I am a retired, senior ..." 😁
I'm getting near that territory myself, so I suspect money is a concern.
Acrobat Pro 2020 is about $449 US. CutePDF Pro is $50; free upgrades for life. (I'm not saying Cute is the only option, but one I have used/purchased.)
