Acrobat Form Checkboxes/Radio Buttons

I'm having an issue with newly created checkboxes and radio buttons.

They're set to have a cross in them when clicked, but in use nothing appears when they are clicked.

This is a problem which has been creeping in over a period of time when creating checkboxes or radio buttons and I was previously able to fix it by setting the default style to a checkbox, within the document i'm updating, I know is working correctly, but even this doesn't work now.

I've tried different fills (check, circle etc) but the problem persists. I've tried new/blank documents, but again no luck.

Has anyone else encounted this or knows of a fix i could try?

Thanks

Thats because you left line thicknes at "thick" so you can't see cross.

Set border color to some color so you can change thickness to "thin" then set border to "No color" again.

Is maybe checkbox text color  set to white?

It's a longshot but it can happen 🙂

Can you post a sample form, so we can test it?

Here's a sample pdf showing the problem - I can't upload the live files as they're under an NDA.

Thanks for the reply - that's fixed the issue. I'm very happy.

I foolishly assumed that no fill and no stroke kinda meant no fill and no stroke 🙂

Adobe could do with giving the acrobat form functions some love - i've worked with forms for years and years and permanently have to work around awkward interface/usability issues… don't get me onto the need to reclick click the selection arrow after a quick key zoom because the pointeer has switched to the hand tool. grrr.

Also, be sure to change the default so that when you place a new checkbox it uses the correct border settings.
