Acrobat Hangs with spinning circle

It worked fine yesterday but today, whenever I open acrobat pro, after a few seconds, it pops up a grey box wiht a flickering spinning circle inside and then just sits there doing nothing, not allowing me to use the app at all. It's 64-bit, latest version installed form the creative cloud app

I have tried changing the preferences to stop checking online storage when saving. I have also tried uninstalling but the uninstalled runs in arabic(?) with English text and arabic buttons!!!

Maddening - I can't use acrobat at all today - any ideas?

So i've now re-installed from the download page (not via CC) and that's given me an older 2021 version. It seems to tbe stable and it's put my bookmarks and tools panels back where they were (the latest version has them swapped around which is quite frustrating)

 

Moral of the story - don't update!

Please let us know if the issue started occurring after the recent update. Does this happen every time you launch the application? Or with a particular workflow?

 

Try repairing the application once. If that does not help, try reinstalling the application using the following steps: 

- Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html).
- Reboot the machine
- Install Adobe Acrobat Reader from the following page: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/.

 

If you still get the same window, please share the process logs with us. You may use the steps provided on the following help page: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html.

Share the Acrobat and OS version on the machine. It will help us to further investigate the issue.

As I mentioned, this occured with the latest version installed (automatically) via creative cloud. It gave me the same blank screen with a spinning and flickering circle every time I opened it. This is Acrobat Pro on a subscription, not the reader. Im using Win 10, 64-bit, fully patched.

 

I am now running a 2021 version of adobe (the one that comes form the online static download) and have no

issues and I've now disabled updates so I don't get forced to use the dodgy version again Aside from that, I'm afriad I have work to do. I don't have time to be installing, uninstalling, repairing and cleanign just to get the new vesion to work (especially when the previous version worked just fine)
