I've been experience incredibly slow performace on Acrobat while in Prepare Form editing mode. I've created many fillable forms in my day, and have not had any performance issues until a few days ago. The app seems to get overwhelmed when I do certain tasks like copy and paste check boxes or radio buttons, or when I'm renaming form elements. I'll see the spinning beach ball spin for 30-60 seconds, over and over as I try to create a form.
My iMac has 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD with 300GB free, so I feel like my hardware is up to the task. I'm on the latest version of Ventura (13.3.1) and have already unistalled Acrobat and reinstalled, which didn't fix the problem.
I checked out Activity Monitor while trying to create a form in Acrobat, and it was showing that Acrobat was at times using up to 80% of my iMac's CPU... not sure if that's normal, but I'm assuming not.
I'm getting stressed out because I have a client expecting finished PDF forms from me in a few days, and the software is preventing me from completing this job in any realistic timeframe.
Can anyone provide tips for troubleshooting?
Thank you!

First, you must be sure that this Preference option is disabled:

Yes it is.
Any other ideas?
This gets painfully slow when the form has multiple form fields and check boxes.

Yes, but I'm afraid you won't like it: use the Windows version. 😉

I have also been having serious performance issues in Photoshop. I just purchased 128GB of RAM to upgrade memory. I will report back if it helps the Acrobat Form problem.

Photoshop and Acrobat are in no way products that can be compared. Their common denominator is Adobe. That's it.
