Acrobat Javascript Code Roundtrip to external editor not coming back to Acrobat

OK, so the subject pretty much describes it.

I've got Atom opening up when I click Edit in my text field properties for a custom calculation script.

It opens a file named "JSEdit.js" which I put code into, save and close, but Acrobat doesn't seem to do anything. I can close the Text Field Properties screen, and reopen it and there is no script in there, so I click edit and I get a new blank JSEdit.js file to enter code into again.

Any ideas?

Is the editor being closed completely? Acrobat waits for the editor process to die, before opening the temporary script file

Hi,

This looks very odd, I just tried with atom, and it appears to close correctly, but Acrobat never comes back, looks like there is a problem of Acrobat detecting that Atom has finished with the file.

As @Bernd_Alheit suggested, I guess the only option is to use a different editor.

Regards

Malcolm
