I totally erased my windows 7 hard drive and reinstalled Windows 7. Any registry file Acrobat may need that was on my hard drive is now gone and microsoft is no longer updating windows 7. Is there any way Adobe can download these missing registry files so that I can get acrobat activated again.

As far as I know, Acrobat 9 may be activated... Acrobat 8 may NOT be activated
The CS2-CS3-CS4 activation servers have been removed from service
-https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite.html?promoid=19SCDRQK
-So even if you have a disc or saved download, CS2-CS3-CS4 are completely dead
-Adobe also no longer supplies the special non-activation version of CS2-CS3-CS4

The registry isn't files. It's one big database with many things inside. There's nothing to dowload; you have to reinstall Acrobat, assuming its not 7.0 or 8.0 in which case you lost it forever.

Good. Then just reinstall from the original install files.
