Hello.
I'm looking for some help with a relatively new issue I'm having in Acrobat Pro DC. If I have a PDF (PDF1) minimized and open another PDF (PDF2) from File Explorer, Acrobat seems to be maximizing PDF1 behind PDF2. This means that if I close PDF2, PDF1 (which was minimized) is now maximized. It's also affected the use of Alt + Tab after opening PDF2. It's very routine for me to open a PDF from File Explorer then Alt + Tab back to File Explorer. Until recently, this worked perfectly, but because Acrobat is maximizing PDF1 behind PDF2, a single Alt + Tab takes me to PDF1 instead of File Explorer.
I believe this is the same issue that was discussed in this post (https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/acrobat-opening-minimized-windows/td-p/10121292), but that was fixed with an update in 2018. I checked, and Acrobat is telling me that there are no updates available (I'm running 21.005.20048). Is it possible to get a fix? Thanks!

Hello!
Thank you for reaching out.
It seems that you were opening PDF in a new window. Could you please check the Acrobat Preferences and ensure that the box for the option "Open documents as new tabs in the same window" is unmarked.
If the option the enabled, disable the option and click on the OK button at the bottom of the preference window to save the changes. Then relaunch the application.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Yes, the "Open documents as new tabs in the same window" is unchecked, and all of my separate PDF files are open in separate sessions of Acrobat (no tabs). I also tried checking the box, exiting & reentering the program, unchecking the box, and exiting & reentering the program again, and this did not help.
Thanks.

Hi there,
Sorry for the delay in response.
We have tried to replicate the behaviour, however, the issue is not reproducible at our end.
Please try once reinstalling the application. Use a cleaner tool (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html) to remove the application.
Then reboot the machine and install the application from this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/download-install-acrobat-subscription.html.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Meenakshi
