Acrobat - printing Microsoft to pdf doesn't always prompt for save location & where might those save

I have a user who when printing to pdf, doesn't always prompt to save to a location.

Is there a way to force it to always ask, and for the times it didn't prompt, where might those files go? I checked the documents folder and they didnt seem to be there.

Hi @Paolo322860300jna ,

I hope you're doing well, and thank you for contacting us.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Adobe Acrobat. We understand how frustrating that can be, and we're here to help you resolve this issue.

To better assist you, could you please provide us with a bit more information? Specifically, have you noticed this problem occurring right after the recent update, or did it start happening at a different time?

Regarding your question about the printing process, are you using the "Print as PDF" (MS Process) or the "Print as Adobe PDF" (Adobe Process)? It would be incredibly helpful if you could provide a short video recording of the workflow so that we can have a clearer understanding of your problem.

Regarding file location behavior, Adobe Acrobat typically saves files in the most recently used location by default. However, you do have the option to choose a different location if needed.

Additionally, you can try the following steps to see if they resolve the issue:

  1. Navigate to Edit > Preferences > General and ensure that both "Show online Storage when opening files" and "Show online storage when saving files" are selected. Click OK to save the settings, and then restart the application.

  2. Ensure you have installed the most recent Adobe Acrobat version (version 23.06.20320). You can check for updates by going to Help > Check for updates. After updating, please reboot your computer.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation in resolving this matter. Please let us know how these steps work for you, and if you encounter any further issues or have any questions, feel free to reach out.

Regards
Amal

Hi Amal,

I enabled the two options for saving and the problem seems to happen every other print.

And the user is using the most current adobe acrobat.

When you go to print and select Adobe PDF as your printer, click on Printer Properties. Check to see if Prompt for Adobe PDF filename is on.

My system just printed without prompting even through the name prompt was on, however, it started working properly after checking the setting.
