I'm having similar issues. Trying to edit a simple PDF, which if using MS Word would barely bother the CPU, and my CPU fan has been on turbo for hours. Not only that but editing simple text is sooooo slooooow, and you can't select large numbers of items to move because halfway through it will randomly de-select them all so you have to start again. I am at a loss as to how Adobe have created such a donkey with Acrobat Pro. It's lucky I've got the CC subscription because if I was paying £15 a month for just Acrobat I would be furious.

In fact whilst writing this message Acrobat has decided to almost completely scramble the document I was working on with no way to recover it. I've decided to convert it to a Word document so I can actually work on it reliably. Maybe Adobe should stop chasing the Generative AI snake oil and concentrate on producing software that actually works.
