Acrobat Pro attach file keeps crashing

New Here ,

Hi,

I'm trying to obtain some urgent assistance.

I am trying to attach files to a PDF document (original document is 3 pages - an index). I go to Edit > Attach a File > select the .pdf file and then it will either show the file in the attachment panel and freeze or Adobe completely crashes.

I have tried attaching files to different documents incase the index is corrupt - same thing. I have tried attaching different files in case the attachments are corrupt - same thing. We have done a repair and re-install, I have disabled the new Acrobat and tried the old version, disabled protected mode at startup and enhanced security, closed every other program so only Adobe is open and nothing has worked - it still crashes or freezes. I've even left it frozen for 30 minutes to see if it "needed time" but it didnt't.

Please help! There are guidelines we have to follow with the format of the document which means the attachments can't be added as a comment. I'm going crazy!

@impressive_judge2045 are you attaching the PDF from the cloud or computer?

If the cloud, upload the PDF from your computer—the internet can play a habd with that!

Have you tried zipping the PDF?

if that also crashes as well, I would then look at re-installing Acrobat? Maybe something went glitchy somewhere in the app itself. I would go to your account, adobe.com, and uninstall it. And for good measure, once you do that, I would also use Adobe Clean to remove any old Adobe software, cleaning corrupt installation file. Only use Adobe products from Adobe and not any third-party app.

Once done, go back to adobe.com, and re-install Acrobat.
