New Here ,
Sep 05, 2022 Sep 05, 2022

Hi

I have an older machine that is running Windows 10 and has Acrobat Pro DC 2015 Release (Classic).  I would like to transfer the license to my new machine running Windows 11 Pro.  Is my version of Acrobat compatibile with Windows 11?

Thank you

Officially, No. According to their system specs, the oldest Windows 11 can handle are the 2017 releases.

I installed Acrobat Pro XI on a Windows 11 machine and ran the updates in the program. It's working just fine.

Hello!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

++Adding to what our community product expert already shared, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2015 (Classic) was not designed or tested for Windows 11, as it predates the operating system by several years. That said, some users have reported that it can run on Windows 11 with varying results, but Adobe does not officially support this configuration. See this article for more information: https://adobe.ly/4k4zMcC

  • Compatibility:
While Acrobat Pro DC 2015 may install and run on Windows 11, you could experience unpredictable behavior, feature limitations, or crashes, especially since updates and bug fixes for the Classic 2015 release have ended. See this article for more info: https://adobe.ly/43zK7XX

  • Activation on a New Machine:
You can try transferring the license by first deactivating Acrobat on your old machine via Help > Sign OutThen, install it on the new machine and sign in with your Adobe ID.
However, installation media or installers for older versions, like 2015, may no longer be readily available from Adobe.

  • Recommended Approach:
If Acrobat is critical to your workflow, Adobe recommends upgrading to a current, fully supported version (e.g., an Acrobat Pro DC subscription), which ensures compatibility with Windows 11 and receives regular updates and support.

You might be able to install and run Acrobat Pro DC 2015 on Windows 11, but it's not guaranteed or supported. For reliability and compatibility, especially on newer systems, consider moving to a supported version.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
