I'm attempting to locate where the Alt-Text function is located in Acrobat pro dc. I've used alt text in this program before and now it seems to be missing. Is this just me? I could use help locating where the function is. We used to just rt click on an image to reveal the alt-text option. The help menu doesn't even acknowledge alt-text as a term anymore.

You can access a <Figure>'s Alt Text this way:

  • Select the <Figure> tag in the tag tree.
  • Right-click and select Properties.
  • Note the field labeled Alt Text.

You can also see the Alt Text for all graphics in the document by selecting the Set Alternataive Text tool from the Accessibility panel on the right-hand side of Acrobat (that's the purple Davinci icon shown below).  This is an easy-to-use tool that first scans the entire document, and then shows you each individual graphic and its Alt Text. You can either add new Alt Text, edit what's already there, or mark the graphic as "Decorative" (aka, Artifact it).

Bring up the Accessibility from the right-hand tool bar, or if it's not there, go to the Tools Tab (in the upper left of Acrobat) and select it from the Protect & Standardize section of tools.
