Acrobat Pro DC Form Text Field Font Size Limit

New Here ,
Jun 04, 2020 Jun 04, 2020

I am wondering if there is a way to use the "Auto" setting for a text field, but to set upper and lower limits to the font size. When I am working with multi-line fields that also allow scrolling I would like for the font size to start at 14 or 12, but get no smaller than size 10. At size 10 I would rather it just start scrolling instead of it continuing to go all the way down to what I think may be font size 6 before it starts scrolling the text.

Is this a setting I am missing or something that can be done with JavaScript code or some sort?

Thanks. I figured as such, but wanted to check to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

PDF support is all over the place by the different clients anyway so even if it did have it I bet most non Adobe apps wouldn't support it anyway. It is a little annoying that there are so many different versions and types of PDFs that you can't be sure everyone is seeing them the same or able to use them the same.

No, it's the reverse.

There is only one PDF format, aka ISO 32000 Standard. But there are many software using the PDF format that do not necessarily support all of its specifications, or even add some.

JR is correct - you can not do this using properties. However, you can reduce / increase the dmensions of your form field to obtain the font size you desire.
