Acrobat Pro DC - Open multiple PDFs in tab view

I have seen this issue posted multiple times and the solutions those forums offer have not worked for me.  I have Acrobat Pro DC installed on two computers.  One is long-standing which I don't have this issue with, and the other was freshly installed last week on a brand new computer, which is where I am having the issue.

On my older computer, I am able to open multiple PDFs in one window, each with their own tabs.  On this new computer, each PDF opens in a new window.

What I have tried:

1) In Adobe, >Edit>Preferences - The option "open new tabs in same window (requires restart)" is NOT AVAILABLE in my menu.

2) "Check for updates" in Adobe - NO UPDATES were available.

3) Checked for Windows updates, updated the computer, restarted, still the option does not exist.

What else is there to try?  Why does it work on one computer and not another?  What is missing?

OK, that makes sense. Your version doesn't have this feature.

It's true it was once called Acrobat DC, but it's not any longer.

This is Acrobat 2015, a part of the Classic track. Acrobat DC is a part of the Continuous track, and it has more features.

You will need to either switch to a subscription or pay for an upgrade to Acrobat 2017 to get this feature.

@try67

See this is where the other forum discussions were not helpful to me -

If what you're saying is accurate, that I need to upgrade in order to get this feature, then why does my older computer running the same program have the ability to open multiple PDFs in the same window?  My older computer somehow has a 2019 version of the software (2019.012.20035).  Do I understand correctly that you're saying this version no longer available?

@try67 and if I just have the wrong version downloaded, can you please offer a direct link to the correct version download?  I found it incredibly difficult to find a downloadable version of Acrobat Pro DC as it was.

You don't have the wrong version, you have the version you paid for, unless you also have a subscription for Acrobat DC.

If you do, you can download it from here: Download and install Acrobat DC subscription

As I mentioned initially, I have a subscription to Acrobat Pro DC - Which program do I need to properly access the software that I pay for?  Please provide a direct link to the download (not a contact link, please).

You need to install and use Acrobat Pro DC. The correct way to do it is to follow the instructions in the link I provided above.

Thank you,i will try that, but initially when I finally reached a download link on Adobe's website, it was for Acrobat DC.  I'm not sure why this will be any different.  if it works, I will mark as resolved.

I'm having this problem with Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.16
Pretty dumb that I can't find the tab-view feature anymore.  I guess the workaround is to vew several PDF tabs in a web brawser, and open them in adobe only when I need a specific adobe feature.  Makes me want to NEVER pay for an adobe product when "Give us more money" is the answer to a missing feature that used to be part of this program.
