Acrobat Pro DC: Unable to create shared pdf review

Community Beginner ,
Sep 07, 2020 Sep 07, 2020

Hello

When I try to send out a pdf file for shared pdf review I get the error message "Unable to create shared folder".

I can browse to the folder and add files to it. My Acrobat Pro DC version is 2020.012.20043.

I have tried to delete the server location or choose another server location. The same error message occurs.

If this is at work you may need to verify if there are write permissions to the mapped network location that you're trying to create the shared folder in.

Hi,

Could you please check if Sandbox mode is enabled for Acrobat on you system?

Please note that it is expected with Sandbox mode. You may refer this note

To resolve this issue, you can disable the check-mark “Enable Protected Mode at startup..” and then restart Acrobat.

Alternatively, you can set the policy configuration if you do not want to disable Acrobat Sandbox, see the following

Please use the config file mentioned at (section: Policy configuration) https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AppSec/protectedmode.html

This page explains around reader. Please follow all that for acrobat.

The config file should have below content if you choose dkrmed018. replace this if choose any other server.

; Files Section

FILES_ALLOW_ANY = \\ dkrmed018\*

I hope it helps. Please let me know if you face any issues.

Regards,

Arvind

Hello ls_rbls,

I installed latest patch but I'm still getting same error "Unable to create shared folder"

I realized that windows notified you must restart your computer to turn off  User Account Control.

I restarted the computer and then tried again there is nothing change.

Thank you for your support.

Based on the screenshot provided this doesn't seem to be a problem exclusive to Acrobat Pro or Reader DC.

This is a Windows Explorer integration problem that may be conflicting between the version of MS Windows that you're currently using and the Adobe Acrobat.

I think we all forgot to ask first  in which operating system(s) is this happening and which Sharepoint version (if any)?

That said, it may be worth to also look at the security zones for Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer 11, to include (maybe) applying updates to the Sharepoint server version that you may be using.

Did this problem started happening after a migraion of Sharepoint to a newer version?

It is possible that the type of document library where your shared file resides doesn't allow its content to be filtered.

If that would be the case, see this Micrososft support guidance where they recommend to use Views instead of Folder.:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/create-a-folder-in-a-document-library-3d6a8c11-2490-4d6b-...

In addition, see also here:

And also ask the same question in the Sharepoint support communities:

If you click on Help--->>> "Repair Installtion" in Acrobat do any difference?
