This is a silly question, really, but it's annoying nonetheless.

I have always experienced the issue of my Acrobat minimising to a smaller window when I open a new pdf.

E.g., I have acrobat at full screen, I then open a pdf file and the full screen shrinks which then up sets the flow of my windows open.

Is it a simple check box issue somewhere?

thanks

Hello,

Certainly! Let’s address this issue with Adobe Acrobat. It’s not a silly question at all, and I understand how frustrating it can be when your workflow gets disrupted. Here’s a concise solution for you:

Open the PDF you want to view.
Go to File > Properties.
In the Initial View tab, uncheck the option that says “Open in full screen mode” under the Windows section.
Additionally, go to Edit (Windows) or Adobe Acrobat (Mac) > Preferences > General.
Select “Open document as new tab in same window”.
Reboot your computer once to apply the changes.
This should prevent Acrobat from opening PDFs in full screen mode and ensure they open at their actual size. Give it a try, and hopefully, it’ll resolve the issue.

Hi Scott,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Unfortunately, all the unchecking and checking were already done, as default, I'm guessing. (Or I was mucking about, not knowing what I was doing at some stage.😊)

My actual issue, though, was that I already have Acrobat in full screen, and when opening/adding another PDF to Acrobat, it minimises to a smaller window, and I have to manually maximise(green icon top left on Mac OS) it. I hope I have explained this better, mate.

Cheers,

Scott
