I have the new 15" MBP with retina display and my PDF documents, when opened in Acrobat XIPro, look extremely blurry even when the majority of the file is vector based graphics. In fact, the entire Acrobat interface is extremely blurry. The file looks crisp and clear when displayed using Apple's Display Software. Is there a fix? Is Adobe behind on an update to this problem? I've already messed around with the preferences to no avail. Thanks for your help...

Hi jaytahoe,
There's some update: Retina display will be fully supported for the next quarterly release of Acrobat and Reader XI, which might be avaiable in September.
Thanks for your patience.
Best,
Luc

Not gonna lie, an update should have been out already. There's just no apropriate excuse for the delay in support on such an expensive program.

This remains unresolved, as well as the sluggish behaviour of the application. When is Adobe going to fix the HiDPi issue, specifically Acrobat XI and retina display Macs?

Hi,
I've been using Reader 11.0.4 on my retina display MacBook and it's entirely hi-dpi (both UI and the document view).
Have you successfully updated your version? Can you check the version you have in the About box?
Meanwhile, I'm downloading 11.0.4 from the Adobe web site and will get back to you very soon.
Best,
Luc

I've just installed the 11.0.04 release from Adobe web site and can see that the document is rendered in high resolution on my Retina Display Mac.
What is it that you find sluggish and pixelated.
There are some icons in the UI that are still low resolution (such as "Convert PDF file to Word or Excel") but don't afect the overall experience.
Does the page look pixelated? Can you open the thumbnail pane and check they're rendered in hi definition?
Thanks,
Luc

I just updated Acrobat Pro XI to 11.0.04 on my 15" retina display mac and unfortunately everything is still pixelated--the UI, my docs, etc. Is there a setting I need to configure to get it to look right?

Hi Steve,
There's definitely something wrong.
We have spotted an issue in the updater that can affect certain version of Acrobat or Reader to upgrade to 11.0.4.
What version did you have before? What is the version of Mac OS?
I'm going to start a new thread to collect some data and share some solutions.
Thanks,
Luc

I had just purchased the retina display Mac and had installed installed acrobat via creative cloud, so I'm unsure which version of acrobat pro was installed...presumably the version right before 11.0.4.
Regarding OS X, it had the most current version of the OS...10.8.5 I believe.
Thank you for your help.

I have a MacBook Pro 13" with Retina Display, (Late 2012), and the 11.0.04.63 version of Adobe Acrobat Pro. Any updates?

Hi,
Acrobat 11.0.04 is Retina Display capable. If it doesn't look sharp, then it's probably running in low resolution.
A solution has been posted here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1298242?tstart=0
Thanks,
Luc

Yep, the problem STILL persists. It must be really hard working at Adobe. I just honestly feel sort of shafted. I'm a medical student and I use Acrobat to take notes. LOTS of notes. I'm just dissappointed that I "splurged" by purchasing a product, a product I assumed was superior in features and support, when there are far cheaper options with faster support and updates. I mean seriously try looking at a PDF of Head anatomy right now on a retina MacBook Pro. Embarrissing.

Using QuickRes app turn to REAL 2880x1800 resolution ... et voilà ... I just can't post the screenhot ... 'cause it's too big

This update does NOT CORRECT the HiDPi compatibility problem, Stacy. The pdf quality and sluggish behaviour persists. My question remains, when will Adobe Acrobat have retina display support?

CS6--which I just bought for a new Retina MacBook Pro--still comes with Acrobat X rather than XI. Since you're still selling that product (Acrobat X), will you release a retina update for it as well? Reading through this forum I learned I should be sure I had Reader 11.0.04--which I do now, and it looks fine--but that's a poor substitue for an Acrobat Pro that looks so blurry as to be unusable.
(Side question: any idea when there will be a retina update for InDesign too?)
Thanks.
