Acrobata 2025: Table Editor Not Updating When TH Tags Are Correct in Tag Tree (Structure Map)

New Here ,
Nov 19, 2025 Nov 19, 2025

I’m running Adobe Acrobat Pro – Continuous Release Version 2025.001.20844 (Enterprise) and running into a consistent accessibility issue with tables.

Even with the Tags panel showing the TH tags correclty, the Table Editor view does reflect this update.

In other words:

  • The Tags panel shows the correct structure (<Table> → <TR> → <TH>).
  • But the left-hand Table Editor overlay still labels the cells as 2 large “TH” instead of the 9 or so "TH" it should be displayed
  • Header cells are not visually recognized in the table structure map.
  • The structure map will not refresh.

I have tried:

  • Retagging the document
  • Editing TH/TD types directly in Table Cell Properties
  • Using the Reading Order tool
  • Closing/reopening Acrobat
  • Re-exporting from Word
  • Drawing new tables in World

I tried to delete the entire <Table> tag and force Acrobat to recreate the table via Reading Order → Table but I was getting errors and failure messages when trying to d o this. The older “Reanalyze Table” option is also missing in the 2024–2025 redesign.

Here are screenshots showing:

  1. The Table Editor overlay incorrectly showing 2 TH for header cells
  2. The Tags panel correctly showing <TH> elements

Can Adobe confirm:

  • Is this a known issue with the 2024–2025 redesign?
  • Is there a new way to force the Table Editor’s structure map to refresh?
  • Or is deleting and recreating the <Table> tag currently the only workaround?

I have multiple large tables in a long document and need the Table Editor overlay to reflect the correct header structure for accurate accessibility remediation.

Any guidance or clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi mina_bina,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble caused.

As you are experiencing issues with the tagging, we need to replicate the workflow and verify it. Could you please help us with the following information:

- How was the original document created?

- Since when has the issue started?

- Share a sample file on which the issue occurs.

- A small video showing the issue with the tags.

- Do you experience this behaviour with other files too?

- Share the current Acrobat and OS version.

In the meantime, please refer to the information in the following help document: https://adobe.ly/3K6srMT.

Feel free to let us know if you need any help.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
