Acrobat Pro 24.005.20414 under windows 7 pro
The ADD TEXT tool under EDIT PDF menu has gone bonkers. Although it says it is using Encoding: identity-H if I add text using a different font and then examine DOCUMENT PROPERTIES/FONTS, in fact it seems to be using a weird arabic encoding. Letters come out ok when typed into a text box, but digits appear as arabic characters. Also, the text wraps back to the beginning when less than half way across the text box. Also, I cannot access the properties of the text box by right clicking any more.
In the attached screen clip, I typed ABC123456789
My default font was set to Calibri, but, as soon as I started typing, it reverted to Arial in the properties at right.
Oh Adobe, what have you done with that recent update?

Hi, @PeterFacey, as long as you realize the minimum requirements for 24.005.20414 is a 64-bit Windows 11 or Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) operating system, an Intel or AMD processor at 1.5GHz or faster, 2GB of RAM, and at least 4.5GB of available hard disk space.
After any OS gets into End of Life designation and Windows 7, there's nothing that anyone can do to fix an issue. In fact, MICROSOFT ceased to support Windows 7 on January 14, 2020.
Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done. Sorry

Fortunately, all other Adobe products do not automatically update you to an incompatible version. I am alright on cpu, ram and disk space, but not of course on the windows version. Don't get me started on why it would take me 14 days continuous work to clean install windows 11 and all applications.
