Adding folders to a PDF Portfolio

Explorer ,
Apr 14, 2025 Apr 14, 2025

Greetings Adobe Community,

I was working with a member of the legal team today.  The user wanted to add an existing folder to a PDF portfolio.  Each time we chose to "add a folder", 20 individual files were added to the portfolio.  We then had to add a new folder separately, click and drag all the files into the folder.  Is there any reason why adding the folder does not add the folder containing the files which is the expectation?   Are we doing something wrong?  Please advise.  Thank you so much!  Tiffany, Loyal Adobe user

Try to clic and drag the folder from the Finder/Explorer into the portfolio.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

++ Adding to the discussion

I have tried to reproduce the issue at my end and its working as expected.

Would you mind sharing the steps you are taking to add the folder to the PDF file Portfolio? A small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs would be very helpful.

You can add content to an existing PDF Portfolio, from an open PDF Portfolio, do any of the following:

- Right-click in the PDF portfolio window to open the secondary toolbar, then select Add Files, Add Folder, or Add Web Content.
- To create a folder, select the Create Folder icon in the secondary toolbar.
- To add files from your computer, drag any files or folders to the PDF Portfolio workspace or a folder in the left pane.

Good morning Amal,

Thank you for your response.  I created two recordings:

(1) Creating a new portfolio and adding an existing folder.

(2) Showing individual files were added and I had to create a folder and then add the files to existing folder in the Portfolio.  Looking forward to hearing back from you.  Thank you so much.  Tiff

Also, I tried clicking and dragging and that did not work either.  Thank you again!

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing the video recording, it really helped in understanding your workflow.

This is the design behavior of the application, as described in my previous response, you can add content to an Existing PDF Portfolio, from an open PDF Portfolio, do the following:

- To create a folder, select the Create Folder icon in the secondary toolbar.
