Adding Multiple (Drop Down/List More than 2+) Signatures

New Here ,
Nov 29, 2018 Nov 29, 2018

Calling out for experts with Adobe Acrobat DC Pro 2018 version (licensed version installed)......

Previously my user was using Acrobat 2015 version and was able to drop down all/multiple listed of signatures used previously to the document (signatures are jpg format) and choosing which signature to add to a document.

Recently i installed DC 18 Pro version which does not give you this functionality. I couldn't find it.

Now with this 18 Pro version it only lists one, or the last used (not say signature used before/prior to this/like a list of recently used), for these other signatures the user needs to go through manually each time choosing each time there is a change/different signature required to add to a document.

I tried on 2015 version and works but not on 2018 version.

Is this functionality available in A/A DC Pro 2018 version? Is there setting (in Adobe/registry) that needs to be done? Any assist/guide/link will be appreciated.

Also has Adobe removed this functionality?

Note, Using Signature & Initials in Fill In & Sign - allows max 2 - is not answer I'm looking for.

Cheers,

Hi memsa,

As per the issue description mentioned above, you want to list all the digital signatures while signing a pdf in Acrobat, is that correct?

Could you confirm if you are referring to certificate signature in Acrobat as seen in the screenshot below:

If yes, try changing the following option and check if that works:

Launch Acrobat > click Edit > Preferences > Signatures > Creation & appeareance > More

Uncheck the box next to "use modern interface for signing documents..."

Relaunch Acrobat, sign the pdf again and click the drop-down under "sign as" and check.

Let us know if you need any help.

Shivam

Hi Shivam,

Actually it's not digital signatures I'm referring too.

The signatures are signed and scanned/saved as filename.jpg files.

For example, file names with single signatures only :

1. John Smith.jpg

2. Bob Jones.jpg

3. Tony Nice.jpg

4. Angela Nonny.jpg

5. Rod Truth.jpg

6. etc.

7. etc.

8. etc.

9. etc.

10. etc.

Now when user wants to add a signature to a document, they choose # 1, next different document they choose #2, another different document they choose # 3, another different document they choose # 4, another different document they choose # 5, another different document they choose # 6 etc....and so on.

Current new A/2018 version lists only the last used, say in this case # 6.

Previous A/2015 version, the list drops down which user chooses #1 - it (keeps history) has list of the recent used signature file names.

In another document the user wants to use signature # 3. In another document the user wants to use signature # 5. In another document the user wants to use signature # 9.

Current new A/2018 version the user needs to go & find the file in a directory and choose the signature file - that is if not last used signature.

i.e. the user is used to having the list down drop and choose & now with A/2018 it doesn't provide this functionality - only last used.

The question is has Adobe removed this functionality from A/2018 or is there a hidden setting/options/preferences (I looked for can't find)?

See screenshot attached.....the "Appearance Drop Down List: This is something I am unable to replicate in A/2018. When I add new file/signature it adds to this list. Next time I want to use that signature I can choose from this list rather than go through the long way.

Hi Bernd,

The attached screenshot is not the solution I'm looking for.

Per the appearance per my last screenshot I need to find the functionality whereby it lists all or (x amount) of the previous used signatures.

I created yyyyyyyy, ABCDE, Test1, test-Sig2, Test-Sig1, Created 2018xxxxxxxxxxx - these are different signature files. When I add new signature file it lists under the drop menu Appearance.

Current version only shows the last used.

My query is, did Adobe remove this functionality with A/2018 version or not? If it did remove this functionality than nothing can be done about it.

If available then what/where is settings/preferences to enable it?

Rgds,

MA

When you don't see a drop down list at appearance then repair the installation.

Hi Bernd,

I don't believe its repair the installation, this is fresh install on Win10 desktop, though I did do repair and have the same outcome,

Refer attachment of screenshot. It shows last used signature. It does not show previous used signatures per listed.

Back to earlier question for clarification:

Did Adobe remove this functionality with current A/2018 version or not?

If it did remove this functionality than nothing or something can be done about it?

If available as an option of some setting then what/where is settings/preferences to enable it?

Also I've checked if any update, current version shows: 19.008.20081

Nothing had changed. You use Fill & Sign. You must use Tools > Certificates.

I've tested --> Tools > Certificates: this is digital signature, the user is not using digital signatures and it also provides no options to add .jpg files as well displaying any options for Listings.

Are you able to provide additional instructions to show how ?

If not I refer back to my earlier question for clarification?

I can't replicate the same scenarios on both versions!

I can do on 2015 but can’t do on 2018?

In my opinion Adobe has removed this particular functionality with 2018.

The user received a new desktop PC, part of the installation & setup was to install the latest version Adobe 2018 (rather than re-installing Adobe 2015 as being out of support/phased out or renewing the licence).

The user uses Adobe from creating documents/invoices/contracts to add/change/edit documents/contracts/invoices.

Documents where it needs a formal signature/s - it's inserted via the scanned signature file/s.

In other way to look at this - is to minimize printed paper and having manually a signature signed on a document and than scanned/save as a xxxxxx.pdf file.
