Adding Script to a stamp in adobe acrobat DC

Hi, I hope this is the right place to ask this question... and thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

I am trying to create a stamp that can be filled in once it is added to a document. I can find lots of information on the stamps, I can even find a script that will add the current date and time to the stamp, but I can't seem to find anything that allows the stamp to be edited once it is applied.

I would like either:

1. Fillable fields on the stamp

      PO Number

      Unit Number

      Approved by

      etc

2. Or, a popup on each of these items to prompt the field to be filled in when inserting the stamp onto a pdf.

Does anyone know if one of these options is possible? I was really hoping to find some Javascript that would allow this, but have not as of yet.

That's because it's not possible. Once applied, the contents of the stamp can't be edited directly. You can move the stamp, resize it, etc., but not edit what's in it. You would need to remove it and then re-apply it with the new data to achieve that.

Thank you both for your replies... this does clear things up for me and I'll start working in a new direction.

Hi,

A stamp is not made to be edited once applied!
Maybe you mean that you would like a dialog box with editable fields, drop-down menus... while applying the stamp. If so, it's possible.

oh!  yes... I thought I saw somewhere that when applying the stamp you would get popups to add information into fields on the stamp.  This allowed each stamp to be unique.   Do you have a link to information on how this is done?  I have not been able to find script for such a task.
