I purchased Acrobat 2020 for Windows one time purchase - I was expecting a CD as it was advertised as "Physical" not "Digital" - the nice box contained a card with download instructions (which I followed) - the program downloaded and install flawlessly, but Adobe will not recognize the BBY SN printed on the box - a call to the GEEK SQUAD provided me with the same serial number on the box that Adobe says is invalid format and I cannot activate the software. What is the solution to this problem?

There won't be a serial number on the outside of the box (at least, not one to make the software run) because people could steal the number from the shop. Don't tell us the number, but look inside the box for a serial number or a "redemption code". Do you see either one - if so, which?

Before giving up, I uninstalled the program and deleted the download - I then returned to the download site and duplicated the download process - this time when I went to www.adobe.com/go/getserial I received the 24 digit serial number that did not display on my initial installation. Adobe Acrobat 2020 is now functional. I noticed some minor differences, but it is acceptable for my use. The help I received from Best Buy was totally useless and the help from this comunity while not useful or informational promped me to perservere. My perserverence produced the desired result.

Glad you have it sorted. So it seems you DID have a redemption code after all. For the benefit of future purchasers who can't get help from Best Buy, where in the package was the redemption code, please?

The problem was not the redemption code - the redemption code was on a card in the box that I expected to find a CD in. The problem was getting a serial number for the redemption code from Adobe. I put the redemption code in on the Adobe website and was greeted with a blank screen. After uninstalling and deleting files then redownloading, I got to the redemption code screen, put in my 24 character code and was greeted with a screen with my 24 digit serial number and a note to record the serial number. I did as instructed and the first time I launched Acrobat 2020 was asked to insert my serial number. I did and am now using Acrobat 2020 (so far) without a glitch. It's odd that the outside of the box has a barcode that instructs to scan the code to activate and scanning it produces the same number printed below it and Adobe will not accept as it is an 'invalid format'.

If it was sold to you as a physical installer but you got a digital download you should demand a refund on grounds of false advertising. It's also illegal in many places.
