I want to register my product when I install on a new computer after previous computer failures where I did not deactivate the products. So when registering I get an error saying there are too many registrations. But when I login to my account to try to deregister, it says there are no linked regstrations so I can't deactivate.

This is no longer possible, since Adobe removed the option to reset the activation counter from its representatives.
