Adobe Acrobat DC - Error "An error occured while initializing"

Community Beginner ,
Mar 02, 2020 Mar 02, 2020

When I open Adobe Acrobat DC an error window pops up and says - An error occured while initializing (This build of the utility has not been processed using the preptool)

Any idea what this is? I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice and it refuses to open and gives the same error window. I am using Creative Cloud on a Windows 10 OS.

Thank you,

Error was found to be from a third-party plug-in. Thanks for the help however!

Hi Codye,

Thanks for reaching out.

As you get the error when launching the application, please ensure that the applicaiton is updated to te latest version.

You may check the latest version available for the application here https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html

Does this issue occurs only with Acrobat DC or with other CC applications as well?

Try uninstalling the application and reboot the machine once.

Then re-install the application from this link https://helpx.adobe.com/in/download-install/kb/acrobat-downloads.html

Check if you still get the same error message.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Meenakshi
