Adobe Acrobat DC slow

New Here ,
Sep 08, 2025 Sep 08, 2025

Hello,

Since about 2–3 weeks, Adobe Acrobat Pro has become very slow when opening any kind of PDF, and it quite often crashes.

I noticed that this issue only occurs when I have an active internet connection:

  • With internet ON → opening is very slow, sometimes leads to crashes.

  • With internet OFF → PDFs open instantly, as before.

Important details:

  • All the files I open are stored locally on my computer.

  • I tried repairing and reinstalling Acrobat Pro and even Creative Cloud → no improvement.

  • I also tried installing older versions → no improvement.

  • I run latest MacOS versions

Could someone please help me with this issue?

Thanks in advance!

@Alois356911133xzh you already answered your question:

    • With internet OFF → PDFs open instantly, as before.

When your internet connection is slow or unstable, background processes can get stuck, causing the application to freeze, slow down, or even crash. Since the problem disappears when you disconnect from the internet, it strongly suggests that an online communication issue is the root cause.

Try adjusting Acrobat Pro's settings to minimize its online activity. The most effective way to do this is to disable any features that sync with the cloud, such as file syncing or document cloud services. This will prevent Acrobat from constantly trying to connect to the internet in the background, which should resolve the performance issues.

Look in your Preferences to trun this off. Keyboard shortcuts, Command K to open preferences. In the Documents,, uncheck

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately your advice couldn't help. As I renewed my Adobe license recently, I thought it could be related but I borrowed another license and didn't help as well. I tried to run it with Rosetta but no change as well...
According to crahs logs that I analysed with AI, several threads are problematic:

1) AdobeAGM
2) CF Network / NSURLConnectionLoader / Network Reachability Thread

Adobe Acrobat gets blocked with the following function:  getaddrinfo, mdns_addrinfo
What should I do?
Best regards,
Alois Rosenfeld
