I edit PDFs for my company. They issued me a paid membership for Adobe, which I used to download Acrobat. There was nothing else on the interface, just Acrobat, which I downloaded. To my total dismay, the installer downloaded Adobe Reader by default, which has no editing capabilities, none. at. all. When you rotate a PDF and save it or print it, it is saved in its previous non-rotated form, Reader is that bad. I urgently need to gain access to Acrobat Pro, whereever it is. From some forum answers I can see there is more work needed from my side to correct this, which will consume my time and effort. Adobe used to work so well 10 years ago. It's appaling how we are being charged money and still cannot access the actual software. The online version does not have editing either, and directs you to the desktop version, which surprise surprise, opens up as Adobe Reader. Such a joke. I want to scream at whoever it is not testing the functionality of the *only* version downloadable from Creative Cloud.

You can install Acrobat Pro DC from Creative Cloud or you can try this link:
https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/download-install-acrobat-subscription.html
Just make sure you are downloading the paid version of Acrobat DC and not the free Acrobat Reader.
I've moved your post from Using the Community to Adobe Acrobat for you.

use the uninstaller to uninstall reader and anything else installed at the same time. eg, did you install mcafee av?
then install the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html
use the desktop app to install acrobat
