Adobe Acrobat Opening PDF files

How can stop this pop-up were opening a file the app wants to make a check for each page before validating the edit.
In my case it stopped and blocked the screen at page 5 - I click on 'cancel' but after a short while it starts all over again.... grrrr annoying!!!!

Go to Edit (or the app menu if you're on a Mac) > Preferences > Reading.

Under "Screen Reader Options" select "Only read the currently visible pages".
