Adobe Acrobat Preflight Droplet - PDF could not be opened

Hi there,

I'm trying to create a preflight droplet for my workflow. I've created a ustomized profile with all parameters that I would want to have analyized and created a droplet from that.

Problem is, with whatever droplet settings I always recieve the error "PDF could not be opened" after dropping a PDF on the droplet. I've treied various PDFs with different export settings and everything the droplet settings offer (create alias, move file..)

Just one time a PDF worked, meaning, a report file would be created and saved and the errors and warnings would be highlighted in the report file. Than I tried another PDF, which couldn't be opened and after that, the first file that WORKED wouldn't work.

I'm a bit desperate. It's been some time since I've worked with droplets and I don't remember to have had done any magic to make it work.

Any solutions or ideas what the issue is with the files not opening?

I'll throw out some guesses;

Try recreating your success folder.

Try exporting your preflight profile to your desktop, then re-import it back into Acrobat with a new name, re-make your droplet & success folder.

Try turning off the Acrobat enhanced security preference.

If you are using a Mac, under System preferences> Security & Privacy> Privacy> Files and folders> allow Acrobat access to your success folder location.

Luke's advice worked. Not sure why. Export and reimport the profile. Recreate the droplet. Worked.

Hi this is the way i got the droplets to work.

Seems if i control click now to open droplet, first time doesnt work, second or third control click attempt to open does, then I press capture then OK, then cancel the process (save at this point destroys the droplet so don't save) then use the droplet, it works, this method is working 100% for me now.
