If you want to insert a screenshot you have to do it via the forum itself (not via email) and use the Insert Image tool.
Also, when you reply by email it includes all of your personal details in the signature...

Try converting them first on their own to PDFs, and then combine just the PDF files.

Yes that works but this problem just recently began – since the time I installed some months ago it worked fine – all other computers it works fine – this computer, it does not – obviously some kind of conflict – I uninstalled and re-installed several times – still doing it

Could be. They might block plugins in Office, which will cause this to happen...

OK I have both versions – installed and uninstalled both versions several times and received the same error message on both (error message previously sent to you as a snap shot). The version currently loaded on the computer is the one I just sent to you.

No, I don't. I suggest you take it up with the IT dept. in your office and find out whether they blocked plugins in Office.

I have the same issue, unable to combine word docs. those docs can be converted to pdf and combined but that is not a feasible way. it was all working until last year and has stopped working for few months now.
the version of adobe i am using is adobe acrobat 2017.
