Adobe Acrobat Pro DC crashing when using Pitstop 13

New Here ,
Apr 19, 2017 Apr 19, 2017

All of a sudden, Acrobat runs slow, cursor spins and when using various Pitstop 13 functions, entire program crashes and I have to re-open. Same results each time. Using on a, Intel iMac featuring El Capitan 10.11.6 and Adobe Creative Cloud programs.

Also, when attempting to save an altered PDF file, the save file as dialogue box opens to a blank square on the screen...will not allow me to change file destination or file name. What gives?

This has never been a problem until this past 4-7 days and cannot continue. The spinning slows work to a crawl and it should not be like this. Any suggestions?

Problem still persists after doing this. For example...using the pitstop measure tool in the pdf crashed the file after setting the second measure mark to get the precise width number. Any other suggestions?

Did you recently upgrade Acrobat? Pitstop recommends a reinstall after every upgrade.

Also have you run PS Pro 13 updates 1 and 2?

We did contact Enfocus support about this issue. We were told the problem was caused by Acrobat DC update v.2017.009.20044 released on April 11, 2017. They said the problem needs to be fixed by Adobe. They did offer a few workarounds:

1. Downgrade Acrobat.

2. Open and close the "About PitSop Pro" window. This will fix the problem until Acrobat the next time Acrobat is opened.

The 2nd workaround is letting us work but hoping Adobe will release a better fix soon.

This is the common excuse from vendors - "Adobe broke it". What they aren't telling you is that they don't have an update to match Acrobat's current version.

Unfortunately, downgrading a product to fit an add-on that has not kept up with the most recent software updates is not the best practice.

Hopefully PitStop will have a patch available soon to fix their issue.

Actually to be complete about this,it is an Adobe bug and recognised by them as such.

I'm in contact with the Acrobat Product Manager in India, and they have acknowledged this.

There is nothing Enfocus can do in PitStop to resolve this.

The second work around of opening the About Panel is the one that most of our customers are using.

We are waiting for a fix and hopeful it will be soon.
