Adobe Acrobat Pro DC - How to delete duplicate pages in a single file

Community Beginner ,
Dec 15, 2020 Dec 15, 2020

I have searched and searched and can't find an answer for how to remove duplicate pages in a PDF file in Acrobat Adobe Pro without doing it manually. Is there any way for the program to recognize and delete duplicate pages in a large file?

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out.

Acrobat has no option to recognize duplicate pages automatically and delete them.

However, you can delete multiple pages using the Organize page tool in Acrobat at once. You can add the page range or number and delete them at once.

You may also refer to the information on organizing PDFs in this help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/manipulating-deleting-renumbering-pdf-pages.html

Also, an option/tool called "Organize pages" should help re-ordering the pages you need.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Update: These pages are not numbered sequentially. For example, there may be 20 page 2s or page 4s, etc

Does you mean pages with the same page number?

It might be possible with a script, but there needs to be some way of identifying the duplicates based on text in them, or some other elements which a script can access (fields, bookmarks, etc.).
