adobe acrobat pro- Exporting Multiple Files to Single PDF

New Here ,
Jul 26, 2024 Jul 26, 2024

I am writing to express my disappointment with Adobe Acrobat's inability to efficiently export multiple files to a single PDF. After spending considerable time attempting this task, I was forced to resort to Adobe Express online to get it done.

This basic functionality should work seamlessly within the core software, and relying on an online tool for such tasks is both inconvenient and frustrating.

I hope Adobe will address this issue promptly to enhance the user experience.

What do you mean by "exporting multiple files to a single PDF", exactly? Do you just want to combine them? If so, you can certainly do that in the desktop version of Acrobat, via File - Create - Combine Files into a Single PDF.

Thank you for getting to me. Yes I was trying to merge PDF files into one document. I gave it a shot. The output file didn't work as I hoped. It only seems to open with Adobe Acrobat and all it has is the PDFs I brought in a form of a list.

Then you combined them as a Portfolio. Go to Options in the Combine Files
dialog and change it to "Single File", then try it again.

You need to elaborate a bit more if you want any further help with this issue.

When attempting to open the pdf file the following message appears:"For the best experience, open this PDF portfolio in
Acrobat X or Adobe Reader X, or later."

Did you make the change to the setting and then re-combined the files?

Yes, I made the necessary changes to the settings before re-combining the files. After conducting an online search, I noticed that many users have been facing the same issue as mine for the past three years. https://www.reddit.com/r/Adobe/comments/mvldss/adobe_sign_functionality_issue_with_portfolio_pdfs/

Are the files you're trying to combine converted to Adobe Sign form, or are digitally signed or secured?

Hi George8924,

Thank you for reaching out.

If you are trying to combine the signed Adobe Sign documents, they can be combined as a Portfolio. You can not combine the signed document into a single file.

You may refer to the information provided in the following document to learn more about the portfolios: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/component-files-pdf-portfolio.html.

Let us know if you are referring to something else.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
