There is a button called "Sign document by typing or drawing a signature" on Adobe Acrobat Pro. Clicking on this usually lets you add your signature and your initials. This was working fine for me until I changed my laptop and moved to Windows 11. Clicking on this button now does absolutely nothing.
I have tried a number of things already:
- Signing in and Signing out on Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Uninstalling and reinstalling (including running the cleaner) Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Adding my details in Edit - Preferences - Identity
- Trying the signature with Using Modern Interface checked and un-checked
- Creating an identity within Digital ID & Trusted Certificates
- Deleting the three "Acrobat" folders in the Windows user's appdata folder (C:\users\<username>\appdata) and then starting Adobe Acrobat Pro again
- Restarting the laptop
I am unsure what's gone wrong so suddenly, and what to do to fix this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Suresh

Hi @SH-AKQA
We appreciate that you have shared all the troubleshooting steps performed.
We assume that you are using Fill & Sign tool here. Every time you click on the Fill & Sign tool, it doesn't let you add your signature or initials.
Or are you referring to a specific PDF file that requires a signature but does not let you sign the file?
Is it a Fill & Sign signature or a Certificate signature?
If you have transferred the Acrobat from one computer to another rather than doing a fresh install, there's likely a chance that some of the tools stopped working.
In that case, please do a complete cleanup using the cleaner tool.
Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s file traces:
https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html
Download the Acrobat installer from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html
Let us know if it still doesn't work.
Thanks,
Akanchha

I have solved this for myself.
For me, it was an issue with the digital signature token USB driver or client (I use SafeNet Authentication Client and Tools).
I reinstalled both and the issue was fixed. Make sure you follow your digital signature provider's steps for installing these.

Thanks for your response.
I can confirm it's the Fill and Sign tool. Any PDF at all that I previously could sign using it, I can't do anything now because clicking it doesn't do anything.
I will try what you have suggested shortly, but as I did reinstall Adobe Acrobat Pro a couple of times including running the cleaner, (and was a fresh install with the only thing being I signed in using the same login), I'm not sure if this will work. Thanks again, will report back.

OMG Akanchha! @AkanchhaS This is amazing, it's worked! Thank you SO much, as I've been worried and wasted quite a lot of time over the past 3 days trying to fix this. I think my previous installations were via my company's Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application - and maybe using the direct file link you shared was the difference that made it work. Once again, thank you so much, you're a star.

hello! trying to solve the same problem
I downloaded the apps to clean and install Acrobat
but the installer you linked to didn't work for me
is it possible that the download referred to in this conversation is out of date?
thanks

This issue has been reported in another thread, and the solution was to remove the Arabit language support, which for some reason is installed by default for some users.
