Adobe Acrobat Pro vs. Export to Word converts double-spaces to single-space

New Here ,
Dec 07, 2023 Dec 07, 2023

Using Adobe Acrobat Pro (continous version 2023.006.20380) I found an issue with conversion when using the Export to Word function where double-spaces are converted to a single-space in all instances. However, when using an alternative option of right-mouse select on the PDF file from File Explorer, choose "Open with" and choose Microsoft Word, the double-spaces are maintained in the conversion.

Can the export to Word function be fixed to retain double-spaces?

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

You are creating a Word file from a PDF file, if I understand you correctly?

That function tries to recreate the layout in Word, but is not fail safe. Especially such "double spaces" could be optimized out. You need to know that a PDF file was never thought to be converted back to Word.
