Adobe Acrobat read out loud = keine deutsche Sprache vorhanden

New Here ,
Dec 14, 2025 Dec 14, 2025

@Tina Frank I haven't used the 'Read Out Loud' feature within Acrobat, and noticed that uses what my computer is set up. Because I am using 'English' it is reading out loud in 'English.'  Acrobat does not contain the different languages such as German, but will use what is on your computer, in this case, your Mac.

Suddenly, it worked yesterday but not today. Was there a recent update to either to your Acrobat app or the Mac operating system that has temporarily broken the link to the Mac's German speech voices? Or could it be corrupted Acrobat preferences?

On your Mac, look at the System Preferences, and find Speech, and make sure German is selected (sorry, I don't want to change it and then I totally forget to change it back!)

In Acrobat, go to it's Preferences as well, make sure 'use default voice' is selected again

Confirm and turn on 'Activate Rad Out Loud' — if it's on, it would say 'Deactivate'

If by chance that doesn't work, fully reset the Acrobat preferences by deleting the application's preferences file. I have done this in the past, and it does indeed made everything feel like new everything gets reset). Go to Library - Preferences - and find a similar file and remove com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist

Once your emove it, delete it from the trash. And restart your MAC. Once you restart your MAC and relaunch Acrobat, it will create a new set of Acrobat Preferences.
