Adobe Acrobat update fake- how do I fix this?

Hi all!
I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and knows what to do. I've had this notification of an Adobe Acrobat update randomly popping up for a while now. I have done lots of troubleshooting and research, but it keeps coming back. I have a MacBook Pro and have called Apple support, and they confirmed I don't have malware on my computer. I called Adobe support, and the person I spoke with did not know what to do and recommended I post an image here explaining the issue. Recently, I have had someone hack into one of my accounts and I am wondering if it has something to do with this update. My Adobe accounts are updated, as is my computer software, so that is not the problem. I am wondering whether it is a problem with Chrome. I did delete Chrome but had to use it for something, so I downloaded it again, and then the pop up came back. Anyways, all feedback and insights are appreciated.
Thank you!!

Hi,
You're talking about a lot of things here. None of it makes sense unless we start sorting things out. So, let's begin with the basics:
What Adobe Acrobat product do you have, and what is the latest version update that was applied to it?
Review Relase Notes here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html
Next, please try to make sense out of all of this that you're saying if you decide to post back:
- "I have done lots of troubleshooting" -- what steps have you followed ? Briefly describe what have you tried?
- "I have a MacBook ProMacBook Pro" -- what is the model of this computer and the operating system? What is the latest version update applied to this operating system?
- "called Apple support, and they confirmed I don't have malware on my computer" -- No disrespect, but whatever a the tech support person tells a customer doesn't mean anything until you, the customer who owns a piece of hardware can confirm that indeed there's not just malware, but other types of infections, data corruption, physical memory damage, defective hardrives, inappropriate installation of software, lack of important updates, ignoring other warning messages and ignoring important crash logs, etc.
- "I called Adobe support, and the person I spoke with did not know what to do " - Go figures... even though it doesn't surprise me I don't blame Adobe for it. Let's blame the large information management corporation that was contracted, who charges well over $85 dollars an hour to Adobe per agent, but subcontract cheap man-labor and pay their agents less than $9 an hour before taxes. So let's see if I can help you out of the greatness of loving to help other people. What happens if you click "Continue" whhen that message pops up?
- "Recently, I have had someone hack into one of my accounts and I am wondering if it has something to do with this update. " -- Again, please refer to my third bullet above. If you suspect your ser account, personal and financial information was compromised thecommunity forums is not the place. You need to follow this guidance https://helpx.adobe.com/security/alertus.html and see here: https://www.adobe.com/security/incident-response.html . Since you're talking about this in past tense it makes this whole thread confusing.
- "My Adobe accounts are updated, as is my computer software, so that is not the problem. " -- None of this makes sense. If you didn't take a proactive approach and follow the appropriate channels to report a suspicious incident how can you tell if that is or not related to the update message constantly popping up?
- "I did delete Chrome but had to use it for something, so I downloaded it again, and then the pop up came back" -- So what you're saying here is that when you deleted Chrome the annoying popup disappeared and it appeared again when you re-installed Chrome web broser? Where did you downloaded Chrome from? Did you ever set Adobe Acrobat as the default PDF viewer in your macOS? Please confirm if this is related to the PDF handler reverting to macOS defailt PDF viewing application. And again, what does any of this has to do with you saying that your account was hacked?
