Adobe form please wait error

I just completed a 20 page form in Adobe Acrobat only to be hit by the error below

Please wait... If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document

I have tried re-installing and restarting. What are my options? The document content is not readable on other another system as well.

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

Are you trying to open the file in Acrobat, or in some other application? How did you fill it in, exactly?

I used Acrobat. My PM and IT department can open the PDF just fine, but the government gets a "Please Wait" message

The "government" is opening it in another application. You will see this yourself if you open in Edge etc.

I used acrobat to fill and open the file. I saved the form and came back to it the next day, started getting the message. I believe there is no solution to this issue and I will have to fill the form again.

Same issue on both Mac and windows machines.

If anyone is getting this message IN ACROBAT, make sure that nobody had the bright idea of "printing to PDF" to save the file. Tell them not to do that!
