Hi,
I'm facing a strange issue with both Acrobat Reader and Acrobat DC (installed on the same computer v. 19.21.20058.359605) on a Windows 7 Pro x64.
When I first launch Acrobat and try to print as soon as I click on Properties everything is ok and I'm able to print without any problems. But after some time during the day when I re-open Acrobat and do the same thing it freezes as I click on Properties and all I have to do is to open task manager and kill the process.
What I've tried to do so far:
- Check for updates
- Repair installation
- Disable from printers' port properties snmp and advanced printing feature
What else I could try?
Thank you
Kari

Hello Amal,
thank you for your reply and suggestions. Yes, I confirm that the problem occurred with any PDF I tried to print. Today I was able to print all day without issues. The only thing I have tried in addition to the things I've already done was to check Windows print spooler folder where I found a file stuck in it. I deleted it and then rebooted. For now it seems to work but I will keep the situation under control and let you know if the problem occurs again.
Thank you for your support

Hi,
it's already enabled only for Windows services and programs and I don't want to disable it completely. Anything else I could try?
Thank you

Hi Kari
We are sorry for the trouble. As described above, the application freezes opening printing properties after the first launch
Is this a behavior with a particular PDF or is it freezing randomly with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF and check.
Also, for testing purpose please try to turn off the protected mode. Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Turn off the Protected Mode and uncheck Enhanced Security > click OK and reboot the computer and check/
Note: Please turn on the security after testing irrespective of the result.

Hello. In my company we have the same issue described. Computers running windows 10 - 64bits-, and last Adobe Reader DC - 64 bits- version. The only solution was to disable the Protected Mode.
Is there any other solution to this?
Thanks in advance,
Jose.

Hi Jose,
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.
Do you have TrendMicro security software installed on your system? If yes, please try to update it and make sure you have the latest version installed and reboot the computer once and check.
Let us know how it goes.
Regards
Amal
