Adobe PDF Converter no longer creates recognizable text

Hello,

In the past, I've used the function in adobe acrobat "print to pdf" which I understand has been updated to "adobe pdf converter". My problem is that when I have a pdf that I open with Adobe Acrobat Standard DC and want to perform the adobe pdf converter function, I lose text recognition with this conversion. Is there a setting in the pdf converter options that allows me to retain text recognition?
